Ibu Berhati Binatang

Assalamualaikum,

Kabare? baek dong? Sori ya, maaf sesangat sbb saya mmg x pandai bicara Indonesia. haha.. Saja try. Neway, berbalik kepada tajuk: Ibu Berhati Binatang. Kenapa tajuk nieh? Baca shortnotes kat bawah ni dulu. Sejak membela binatang ni, aku makin rajin membuat kajian, sampai la jumpa fakta2 nieh, tentang bagaimana haiwan2 menjaga babies dorg.

HAMSTER

Yang ni aku  pernah kena. Hamster ni memang jenis haruan makan anak. Hamster akan beranak banyak2, biasanya 6-8 ekor, then kalau dia nampak anak2 yang kurus, x bermaya, or cacat, dia akan makan hidup2. Memang x bagi peluang. Especially kalau xde makanan or sang ibu x cukup zat untuk menghasilkan susu untuk beri pada anak yang sihat. Yang aku dulu pun dari 8 tinggal 2 ekor. Nak cakap x cukup makanan, mmg penuh je bekas dia aku kasi. xtau lah. Hobi kot?

KUMBANG PENGGALI

Yang ni pun spesis sama ngan hamster/tikus. Dia akan bertelur banyak2, then kalau x cukup makanan, ngap yang kecik sekali. Biasanya mmg x lepas la. Kumbang penggali biasanya duduk dalam bangkai tikus, or bangkai animal2 yang lain so it would provide enough nutrient, but still, larvae yang dirasakan x sesuai untuk hidup or paling kecik sekali akan dibunuh. Dorg ni belajar ngan Darwin kot. Darwin cakap, teori ni adalah survivor of the fittest. Yang kuat akan hidup. Inilah nature. Kalau nak diikutkan, mmg banyak haiwan yang ikut teori ni. Arnab pon makan anak sendiri. Kucing jantan pun akan bunuh anak sendiri, biasanya anak jantan jugak untuk mengurangkan persaingan.

PANDA

Hah yang ni x taulah. Da badan besar, pandai berkung-fu pun x reti jaga anak lagi? Ibu panda biasanya akan menjaga SEEKOR anak sahaja. Andainya dia beranak lebih daripada seekor, yang lain akan dibiarkan dalam hutan. Yang anak kesayangan ni akan diberi makan, minum yang cukup n dijaga dengan penuh kasih sayang, sementara yang laen lantak korangla. Kalau anak2 panda ni x pandai survive sampai 8-9 bulan, mg arwah nasibnya. Kalau survive, nasib baik sangatlah tu. Besar nanti kau pukul ibu kau kuat2 ea Panda. Ajak mentadak kawan kau tu jugak.

HELANG HITAM

Helang hitam pulak laen ceritanya. SI ibu n bapak akan biarkan anak2nya maen camtu je dlam sarang. Nama pun burung. Tahulah sarangnya tinggi. Biasanya akan ada la anak burung yang jatuh mati. Reason dia buat camtu adalah kerana helang hitam biasanya hidup di tempat yang payah nak dpt makanan, so anak2nya bermain tu sbgai 1 ujian untuk mendapat anak yang betul2 kuat n berupaya untuk hidup dewasa kelak.

GAJAH

Gajah adalah herd animal, or binatang yang duduk secara berkumpulan. Ibu gajah biasanya mengandung selama setahun, or setahun sebulan. Masa lahir, mmg besar la anak dia, dlam 200pound! Anak-anak ni pulak akan dikawal ketat oleh 'allomothers' iaitu kakak, makcik2, nenek2 dalam herd tu sendiri. Anak gajah dilahirkan buta, so untuk protect mereka, anak akan dibiarkan bermain di tengah2 kumpulan tu sementara dorg membentuk bulatan. Imagine yourself in a middle, surrounded by extra large bodyguard. Like Justin Bieber, huh?

BURUNG ENGGANG

Burung enggang lain pulak cerita dengan helang hitam. Masa pengeraman n bertelur dihabiskan selamanya dengan bertapa dalam dahan kayu. Ibu enggang akan duduk dalam batang tu, dan si bapa akan menutup lubang dengan tanah n kayu, allowing only a small entrance untuk dia hulur makanan. Bayangkan kau hidup dalam bilik, bermandikan taik sendiri, makanan terhad, selama 2 bulan just untuk besarkan anak. Hebat kan?

ALLIGATOR

Alligator ni nampak jea muka garang, tapi hati jambu. Ibu alligator akan bertelur dalam sarang yang terdiri dari ranting-ranting kayu dan daun-daun. Sarang buaya jangan dijolok! Sebab ibu dia akan sentiasa ada memerhati dari jauh. Tahu x buaya boleh berlari sama laju dengan budak 10 tahun? Kalau awak terkejut mmg x sempatla. Bila da menetas pulak anak-anak dia akan berlari-lari masuk dalam mulut mak dia n dijaga sampai besar.

MANUSIA

Makin lama makin banyak anak2 terbuang tepi jalan, dalam sungai, dalam longkang, kat surau pun ade. X tahu lah. Mungkin dorg ni berfikiran cam Darwin jugak kot. Nak tengok sape paling kuat baru boleh bertahan. Tapi fikirkanlah, haiwan buat camtu sbb mmg xde akal. Kita ni manusia dikurniakan akal yang cukup lengkap, cerdik pandai. Jadilah cam alligator yang bermuka brutal tapi hati baik, jangan jadi cam hamster yang cute tapi anak sendiri dimakannye.

Tahu nape aku tersengih?? Sbb tgk kat blog Nenek Kebayan Buncit gambar aku terpampang dia wat single post. Sangat cilake. Tp xpe.. hari masih panjang. Aku bukanlah seorg keyboard warrior. X pandai nk kenakan orang dlam blog ni. Lagipun blog aku ni bukan la blog mencerca org, except for her la. ngeahahaha.. (Padahal laptop aku rosak, gambar dia semua dalam tuh).

Behavior: Undetermined. Sometimes ok, sometimes grumpy (masa datang bulan kot).

Behavior: Sangat manja, especially masa mintak makan. 

Though da duduk ngan jantan da sebulan, masih x menunjukkan tanda2 pregnant.

Name: Will Schuester

Sex: Male

Type: Abbysinian Guinea Pig

Age: 4-5 months old

Color: Brown and White. Mostly white.

Behavior: Agak liar kalau nak banding ngan Emma. This is probably because we though he was pregnant at first, because of his huge tummy and he has tits. That's before I realised that ALL guinea pigs, MALE n FEMALE, have tits. So, we didn't handle him quite often.

THE TRIPLETS

These Triplets baru sampai semalam, bought by my brother.

Also Abbysinian Guinea pigs. Dorg ni babies lagie. Baru sebulan. Baru lepas bercerai susu. 

Ada 2 betina, sekor jantan (yang 3 colors) tu. Dorg ni agak feral lagie, masih takut2 ngan orang. 

Tapi bila aku naek atas jea nk tengok dorg, mesti dorg berdiri ngan hind leg sambil menyanyi lagu Wonder Pets. Aku x sempat lagie bagi nama kat dorg, sebab baru lagi, so aku letak The Triplets la je ea.

YANG DA ARWAH

Name: Api

Sex: Female

Type: Syrian hamster

Age: 4 months top

Behavior: Agak manja jugak, x pernah gigit aku. Tapi da sampai ajal nak wat camne.

Name: Semut

Sex: Male (Laki Api)

Behavior: Walaupun x pernah menggigit, tapi kuat berjalan. Hilang masa ngah picnic.

Selain Semut, yang laen semua mati di'ngap' kucing yang bengap! Semua terjadi masa aku balik kampung, preparing for my uncle's wedding. Then my father called and said they escaped and being eaten by cat. Api was found at the bottom of aquarium with a bite mark on her back. 

So, that's it. Itu semua yang aku ada. Oh, kenapa Chubbytown?!! Sebab masa aku dapat dulu, dorg semua kurus2, macam x cukup mkan, kecuali Sue. And sekarang, bapak gedabak da. Buncit2 belaka. Dorg la yang motivate aku kasi kurus skang ni,.. haha.. Tapi seyes, aku x pernah bosan maen ngan dorg. Tengok dorang makan pun seronok jea. Kadang2 aku cucuk2 dorg ngan rumput. Oh yea... Dorg sangat suka makan rumput2 segar yang banyak kat belakang rumah aku! So, every morning when there's chaos in the house people busy preparing for works n school, aku keluar kutip rumput kat belakang. 

Jangan tanye aku apa motif bela menatang ni. Aku suke!! Tu je la..

Malu.Segan.Ashamed

Do you ever had a moment when you saw a familiar person, then you went to him/her, spoke to them for seconds and walked away slowly from him full of shame and regret of yourself? Well, that's exactly what happened to me last Sunday.

At Pekeliling, while waiting for my bus, there was this boy, and his face looked very familiar. Depended on my memory, he could be my former school's junior. Yeah, I'm not so good with people's name. They are always confusing me, sometimes with their father's name. With faces, not good either. I just don't care much about other people, and that's gotta change.

When he walked into the bus stop, I was sitting on the iron bench, right under ceiling fan. I noticed him and like, 'This guy is familiar,' then turned away. But, I kept noticing him looking at me for a long time, so I tried to refresh this memory. Minutes after that, he smiled at me, so I smiled back, though I tried to avoid straight eye-contact in case he'd sit beside me and begin to talk, which is hard for me 'cause I dun even know who he was.

On the bus, I got a sit next to a woman, damn the ticket seller. Actually, there's just an empty seat beside the boy. Why couldn't he place me there?? But I refused to move. 1st of all, people who appear familiar to us, and we don't remember their names or background, is a real shame on us.. 2ndly, it was back seat, and I was holding Sue. She could get carsick.

When we arrived, I took a last look at him and that's it. I couldn't remember who he is. There's no way I was about to begin the conversation. So, I stood way from other people, at the entry of the bust station, waiting for my brother to fetch me up. To my surprise, there he was, suddenly appeared to my right. To broke the silence and awkwardness, I smiled to him first before saying hi.

'Hi. Tunggu sape?' This is me asking.

'Tunggu adik aku...'

'Duk sni ke?'

'Ha'ah.. Rantau Perintis. Dekat jea ngan umah kau.' Hah sudah!!

'oohh.. (cube b'lagak cool) kau batch bile ea?' This is the line I regret the most.

'Batch? Batch ape? Sekolah menengah?'

'Ha'ah.'

'Aku sekolah kat sini jea. Bandar Pusat 1.'

'Oh. but aku tengok ka cam familiar. Aku ingat budak INTEK dulu'.

Oh yeah, this above sentence right here, is the biggest regret. Not the other one. 1st of all, I shouldn't say U looked familiar. 2nd, He doesn't even had a clue of what INTEK is!!!!

I should've just gone with 'Long time no see, how are you now, bla bla bla' that kinda talk. But I'm sure that he knew me too. My best bet is that he's my junior in primary school. No wonder he looked bigger than the last face I remember!! haha....

P/S: I'll be more careful while meeting other people on the next days. And I'll try to remember names too!

Meet Spiky Sue. =)

Hi everyone. Remember my post about the hedgehog? Well, night after that, Afeeq informed me that his cousin has babies to sell. His 2 moms gave birth to some pups at the same time, sort of. So, I went out with it, contacted him, and VOILA!! Got myself a baby hedgehog in one month and a half, which is by that time, perfect. I got my PTPTN loan, and it was in the holiday, so I dun't have anything to spend on.

Last weekend, I went to Gombak, bla bla bla.. Fetched Sue (this is her name. Got it from Sue Sylvester, which is also her full name) and Will and Emma (my brother's guinea pigs). But unfortunately, I've to leave Emma and Will with Naeim at Gombak because the coldblooded bus driver won't allow me to get it on the bus. He told me to leave 'em at the baggage storage, which is right under the bus, very close to the engine, therefore, very hot. I refused, so called my uncle and gave them away to Naeim. TQ Naeim n Poksu.

When meeting Sue at the first time, I was astounded. She's huge! I've done some reading before and the 2months old babies would actually be as only big as a tennis ball. After further reading, I found out it varies through breed. Some moms produce bigger hoglets than the others, especially when she's well-fed, well taken care of. No wonder the one that my mom'd held were much smaller. It was in the zoo. Not given so much attention I guess.

At the early time of our meeting, Sue curled up a lot. She was frightened. Maybe she wasn't use of my scents while I'm holding him. After a lot of getting together in these few days, she's now much calmer. She'd climb upon me, let me to pick her up, no more curling, and this evening, as I picked her out from the aquarium, and brushed her quills a little, she fell into sleep on my lap! She's adorable. Really is.

But, she's not used to everybody just yet. Still in progress. The person that she'd be calm about are only me and mom. She practically bit my brother's finger and hissing when it comes to other person.

I'll be using the Emma's cage for her, as it is more prcatical compared to their size.

She loves to play with the ball, pushing it with her head,

And the tissue roll, she'll stuck her head inside it.

Pink carrot is natural stone, supposed to wear her teeth down, and provide her with calcium.

The wood is for her to walk around as I'm working on her wheel. 

She also likes to sleep under it, much cooler I think.

She also get well with her diet and environment, though she always re-arrange the decorations in the aquarium at night. That's some workmanship over there, ain't? Last night, I put a lot of food into her container and as I woke up this morning, it was half empty. That's why she poops a lot. (Yaya has ordered me a plastic bag full of her poops.)

Hedgehogs Hedgehogs Hedgehogs YEAAAAHHH!!

Assalamualaikum and greetings to you, readers of this wretched blog.

Yeah I know.. This blog is 'live shy, die don't want'. In fact, I've only posted 7 entries since I entered IIUM. I'm a busy man, really (?), with theatre, studies, girlfriends (??), stuffs, and worse, FINAL EXAM.

yeah.. I know.

But being a brad pitt like me, this doesn't stop me from wandering, loafing around with my friends. So, yesterday, when we went out for celebrating Nazrin Kuyen's belated birthday, I went into a pet shop and couldn't help myself noticing a thorny, tiny little ball the size of my palm, curling himself at a corner of a container. It read 'Hedgehogs, Rm265'.

Love at the first sight they said

That evening, despite the exhaustion, aching of the whole body, my eyes refused to close as it always do. I kept thinking about this thorny ball. I want it!! SO BAD!!

I'm that kinda person who if he wants things, wants it badly. This is also agreed by mother. But, don't put a label on me, okay. No 'spoilt brad' and such things yg seangkatan dengannya. You've not met my younger brother yet. Why? I'll tell you in my future-not-yet-shaped-post. Besides, having 7 brothers wont possibly make you a spoilt one, isn't?

I did a little research on this animal, founding despites its name, it has NO relation at  all to pigs/ swine/ boar/ babi, whatever you're calling it. It just sounds like one, so putting itself in the same case as guinea pigs (bad things for them, right? being cursed every single day of their short life). Even so, domestics hedgehog is worse, as it lives longer than guinea pigs (4-7 years). =.="

Hedgehogs eat almost everything, omnivorous. Therefore, easier feeding. Its main dishes are slugs, snails, insects, berries, grass roots, toads, snakes, earthworms, EVERYTHING. You got it right? Hedgehogs are a powerful natural pest controls. In UK, they keep luring hedgehogs to the garden, getting rid of tiny, yet concerned pests, and also snakes (they have natural immunity towards snakes's venom).
GREAT ISN'T IT??!! It could be my bodyguard as well, hunting the mean cockroaches in my room.

Keeping a hedgehog is easy, commented by many keepers. It lacks of natural predators. When it feels threatened, it'll immediately roll into a thorny ball, scaring the predators away. You surely don't want prickling ball in your mouth, do you? But, usually it is the final means. They'd flee first.

Hedgehogs can also swim, funny, very friendly, though they active at night. Lousy eater, nocturnal, it does sound familiar, isn't? hahaha...

I've been searching for its supplier, hopefully for reasonable price on online pet stores and personal keeper. I've found one for Rm80 per 2-months-old baby. The usual prices ranges from Rm100-200, some reaches until Rm300.

Adorable, right? Yes, I think so too. Pray a lot for me, yeah. Hopefully SHE would consider on giving me this for my birthday. =))

However, if there's anyone out there who're generous n kind enough to buy this for me, 'small the palm, cistern I show you'.

Farewell, Teater Cintaku Milik Siapa...

Dear blog,

Before I proceed with anything, let me just congratulate Teater Cintaku Milik Siapa (TCMS) casts and crew, and not forgotten the main board for the success of this theatre. For your information, since this team performed at IIUM, it has received a very warm welcome to UKM, under ILUVISLAM. Sure enough, the job was well accepted by the audiences and we got 2 more offers to perform at MMU (Malacca) and in a major event in Stadium Melawati, most probably sharing stage with Muslim teen icon, Maher Zain. And I'm very sure that you guys could repeat the epic performances even without me.

It is hard to me to let this golden opportunity go. It even struck me when a friend asked if I really have the passion to this theatre. Of course I do. I've helped this theatre to rise, even with my dimmed, dull performance. I've been with you for more than a month now, and you are the closest thing I had to a family in IIUM. Theatre has always been my passion, always. And to perform with you guys again is my honor, one that I'll always appreciate.

But things aren't always as we expected. That's the rule of life. I really think I couldn't do this anymore, it's not just a mere matter of want.

So, the plan is that I'm gonna be a GSTT (Guru Sandaran Tak Terlatih) alongside with my big brother, somewhere nearby our village so that we can take care of my grandmother and a down-syndromed auntie. Things have been hard for me since my grandfather died at the early of this years. I couldn't get home very often, and I missing them every second of my time in IIUM. I've already missed out the chance to take care of my grandfather when he was ill... I couldn't bear losing this one. The last thing I remember talking to my grandpa was when I disappointed him after he asked me to take care of him at the hospital. That night, all I was thinking was I have a class the next day, and to return back early. One week after that, I got a crackling phone call saying he's heavily ill. And I had to pay that by waking up late in the silent night almost everyday thinking of him, sometimes my tears just purl down unrequested. So, I'd like to be given another chance to make things right with my grandma and auntie.

Fellow casts and crews of CMS, I'm very sorry I couldn't participate in this play anymore. Please don't judge me not loving you guys or what. Our moments will always be with me, unfaded. Hopefully we'll meet again later, if not in another play, and please don't let this come between us. I'm sure you can find my replacement, who'll be a better Papa to Umar, and not wasting time quarelling with Kluang and Bob.
